Zip-lining.

(Travelsabbatical's photo.)

Deciding where and how to see the rice paddies and lush forests of Chiangmai, our guesthouse owner suggested zip lining. These things are like the flying foxes you went on as a kid, only so much better!

Loaded up with harness, a helmet and a "brake" (a.k.a a bamboo stick), we went to the starting platform. "Wow, what a nice view, should take a photo". But my camera had other plans, and refused to turn on or take photos. Completely non responsive, I found myself in beautiful surroundings and no way of capturing them. So I don't have any images from the day, besides one taken on the back of Jakob's camera of the two of us at the end.

Nevertheless, it was a fantastic half day of soaring over the trees, and was a great alternative to trekking and seeing more elephants and waterfalls.

For dinner we returned to Lemongrass, the restaurant we had been the previous night. We decided to try the favorites of pad thai and kao soi, which did not disappoint. On leaving, we realised it had begun raining quite heavily. But no fear, because we are intrepid travelers! Donning our plastic raincoats that left us resembling blue and pink condoms, we set off for the night.
