Chiangmai and fancy buses.

On the last morning in chiangrai we said goodbye to the people at Fun-D, which proved more difficult than expected. The staff were so welcoming and friendly that is felt like leaving friends behind. If you're ever in chiangrai go and check out Fun-D - I can assure you you won't be disappointed.

Arriving at the station, we went to the green bus ticket counter. "VIP bus leaving in 5 minutes". I had read about these buses online, and on the trip up we had decided the X bus was fine, and it had been. However, with the bus conveniently leaving in 5 minutes and the ticket price being around AUD 8 it felt like a no brainer. The VIP buses hold
Only 24 seats, reclining chairs with a foot rest that comes up and televisions. Yes, there are televisions in the backs of the seats. On them you will find thai TV, English movies (watched Hugo) and old sega video games that can be played with the controller provided to each seat. As I reclined to play Sonic, I felt that we had probably made the right decision.

Arriving in Chiangmai in the early afternoon, we realised that it felt much the same as Chiangrai but in a bigger version. The rest of the afternoon and night were spent booking things and exploring the city (namely the night bazaar) before heading home to our guesthouse to sleep.
