SFMOMA.

last nights activities were met with one hell of a hangover today- and i didn't emerge from the hostel until 1:30. in this time, mum was rather productive- heading to city hall, the asian art museum and seeing all of the amazing food carts set up outside city hall.

when i did emerge, we headed to a small cafe across from the hostel. i was reluctant to have the meatloaf breakfast sandwich, but it turned out to be delicious. there was a small communal table, so we began chatting to a local who said i was welcome to stay in san francisco for forever when i mentioned wanting to live there. so, that's sorted- packing up my things. all the permission i needed right there!

after brunch, we headed to SFMoMA. it was five levels, with works from frida kahlo, diego rivera, picasso, salvador dali and pollock. a rather incredible collection. i was so excited to see frida kahlo's work in real life that i became a babbling tourist, standing up close and grinning from ear to ear. i must have looked completely ridiculous...

after we finished at MoMA, we went to have dinner at north beach. catching the bus, we caught a number of stops too far and had to walk back up the hill. unable to find the originally recommended place, we sought help from a local who recommended an italian restaurant. it was fairly incredible food.

a quick shop at macy's, and then headed back to the hostel to pack for chicago. i spent the later part of the evening packing and skyping home- whilst the intoxicated voices of the karaoke night wafted their way up from the basement.

san francisco, i have definitely left part of my heart with you- and i will return for it some day.
